‘Zilla (that’s slang for Babyzilla) is really coming into her own with gardening; she is planning, planting; taking on real leadership role in Spy Garden this season! Very exciting! Hope you all had a blessed Easter and are enjoying spring as it arrives!

Spring has most definitely sprung in your neck of the woods (pun fully intended). We are doing our level best to minimise our “woods” (of weeds) at the moment and most of our days are spent cutting and burning blackberries. One season begins, another one ends. Looking forward to lighting Brunhilda and reading a good book if it ever starts to rain
I enjoyed your garden update on your new site; all that thorny blackberry removal/hard work was really worth it; its looking gorgeous!
Ah, ‘Zilla is growing up so fast – and she’s a gardener, yay! The world needs all the gardeners we can get. :)
Your tulips are gorgeous. Great photo of her blowing a dandelion amongst them – its a classic!
Your violets look like V. odorata – true sweet violets. Were they fragrant?
Happy Spring to all at Spy Garden! The snow storm kind of put a hold on our spring, I’m waiting for its return.
Thanks, yes I had never seen that type of true violet in the “wild”; I spotted them in the woods (and yes, they were fragrant). We have loads of the other smaller type of violets in our yard and Baby has been collecting them by the dozens. Several times we stepped the petals in hot water to make violet tea (based on your suggestion awhile ago); what a perfect springtime activity ;) thank you for the comments!
Ah, violet tea – it so warms my heart to think of you and ‘Zilla sharing a cup together. Do you add mint and honey? My little neighbor is already asking when the violets will be blooming. It is a sweet activity to celebrate spring!
lovely spring!!!
Thanks!!
