Wood ear mushrooms on a log that reminds me of the head of an alligator; see the eye?
Golden hour, golden retriever
Dexie, nearly abducted! haha
Taking in the view
Dexie loves the woods
Happy to sled! Even if on barely an inch of snow!
Walking back up the hill
Dexie helping them to stop at the bottom haha
Setting off on a winter hike
A two hour hike! Baby is a hiking pro!
Baby’s hat matches these! haha
Note the golden boots, hat and walking stick; coordinated accessories! hahaha
Lovely pale gold
Checking out some ice on a rock
Turkey tail mushrooms…though if I named them I would call them seashell mushrooms
Stopping for a snack break!
One with the forest
A large old tree
Dexie enjoying a leaf and snow bath (naturally she rolled in some rancid thing)
Lightning damage is always so interesting to see! This whole tree was snapped and twisted.
Frozen ice like this is a rare sight around here; I am guessing this happened because we got all that rain a few weeks ago
Checking out the seed stash
Baby picking some seeds to start growing
Moving the garden start set-up into place
This spot is not ideal for seedlings because it is right next to the heat vents so they could dry out quickly. But Babyzilla is on top of it. She planted all the seedlings and has been doing all the watering! We’ve only planted seeds we already have. I still need to place a seed order (probably will order from Baker Creek but might try another place if anyone has any good seed/plant source suggestions!)

Looks like a Gnome condo. Hahah
This is from Baby’s project at her school. It has a laminated picture of her “boat” that she made as part of a project her class did floating things down the Forest school creek. The paper tied to it is a copy of a Shel Silverstein poem (about a homemade boat!)
Detail of her “boat” haha
Hope you all are having a nice weekend!
