Merry Christmas!
Christmas is still in full swing around here as we abide by the rule of:
Thou shalt keep thine Christmas decorations up through New Year’s Day
hahahahaha

Doesn’t this kohlrabi looks like the grinch’s head!?

We’ve been doing lots of painting, gluing, collaging, crocheting, etc., etc. around here: Christmas always makes me want to create!

Here is Babyzilla protesting the very un-wintery (nearly 70 degree) weather in the days prior to Christmas

Tree of toys!

I will miss these lights and may need to pick up a few lamps once we take them down!

In the front yard

Getting a hair cut (to even out her handiwork)

Star light

Gingerbread time!

First I made the base and allowed it to dry completely before adding the tall pieces
Click here to see last year’s gingerbread (Eiffel Tower) and here for my basic recipe. This year’s version included garam masala and ground flax in the dough and fresh Meyer lemon juice in the icing; mmm!

Leftover building materials! Spicy and delicious!

Here it is drying (hence the chair holding it up). It is hollow and has spots to put in little battery operated lights

It still dried a bit crooked like the leaning tower of Pisa; it is leaning back so its not too noticeable from the front

Fini!

This is me after finishing the gingerbread hahaha

Yawning, pre-service (7PM Christmas Eve service)

The kids all did a great job!

After the service
And then it was…

Christmas!

How did Santa get this 16′ canoe in here?!

Woo hoo! Canoe!

Lovely holiday home! Happy New Year!!!
Thanks! Happy new year to you!!
I can see a wealth of New Year adventures in that canoe. I am thinking that (not-so) Babyzilla and The Spy had a great time and your weather echoes ours. It’s been very hot here for us and we are a bit shell-shocked with it’s intensity and relentlessness. I am starting to think we must have accidentally moved to Texas it’s that hot! I love the photos of Dexie and her friend. It looks like they have been brushed for hours. I doubt that even 3 days worth of brushing would allow Earl to be anywhere NEAR as photogenic as those two. Here’s to a happy, blessed and hopeful New Year for everyone and plenty of chances to take that awesome canoe out and teach it some Spy Garden tricks ;)
We are very excited for the maiden voyage of the S.S. HMMmmmmmn what will we name it?! We will give the kids that job of course. The dogs certainly have not been brushed for hours; Dexie can usually be found covered in mud (and much worse) ahahah but yes, in that photo they do look quite shiny; great winter lighting! haha Thanks for the comments and the well-wishes. I hope you, Steve and your family have a wonderful 2016!!!
You too Spy Family. I have a feeling that 2016 is going to be amazing :)
Thanks for sharing your Christmas with us. God Bless your family
Honey

Love all the wonderful pictures! You had such a blessed’ Christmas.
Thanks;) hope you are well; look forward to seeing you in the new year!
Santa brought you a canoe – how awesome! :-) Love ‘Zilla’s new coat – such a fashionista!
The kids in the Christmas play are adorable.
I love ‘A Christmas Story’, so many great lines get quoted around here. “Daddy’s gonna kill Ralphie!” “Double Dog Dare” “Shoot your eye out, kid!” ;-)
Happy New Year to y’all!
We love watching A Christmas Story throughout the day on Christmas; you’re right it is a VERY quotable movie! We look forward to the maiden voyage of the canoe haha;) Happy new year to you and your family!!!
Thank you!
