Eastern Tailed Blue Butterfly

The celosia and cockscomb attract many pollinators

Like a magenta brain! (cockscomb)

Cockscomb is such a cool plant; reminds me of coral!

Here (on a less vibrant yellow celosia) you can see how the seeds form. The seeds form similarly on cockscomb.

The plants that are this color are so vibrant and saturated a deep, deep magenta; hard to capture the saturation in a photo!

Maggie and Dexie

Tall Corn

Dried out blazing star blooms

Like party favors!

Picking off the little sumac pieces (sumac tastes like lemon/vinegar)

The last Sikkim cucumber

Tall Lion’s Tail

Banana trees (and a lot of weeds!)

A Delice de la Table melon; it has gotten chilly so not sure if this melon will make it to maturity.

Blackberries are blooming/fruiting for a second time this year; this one branch has reached far over the deer fence.

Loofah Gourd vines on the teepee finally blooming

More loofah gourd blooms

A feather (turkey?)

A little cave

The cave has a small spring with very cold water flowing out

A tree (at the park with the little cave)

And who’s this?!

It’s “Cat You Can Pet”; a new addition to Forest school!

Seen in my university’s library gallery at a faculty show

And art at home (collaging by Babyzilla)

Fog rising off the Missouri River

Always great to see your updates. Hard to believe half of September is already gone! (NO!) Love the cockscomb, it does look like coral. :-) I think it is great that Zilla’s school has a kitty – I’m a big fan of kitties! :-)
Time certainly flies. I’m especially happy about the cat; I like cats too but am too allergic to have one! So it’s great she gets to play with one at school now!
Everything is starting to bud up here and another manic season of trying to get the best chances of a harvest is off and racing. I see it is still lovely and sunny where you are. Are you looking forward to winter this year?
Yes fall and winter are my favorites!!
