We didn’t grow this dragonfruit; I got it at the grocery. The flesh is NEON magenta with little black seeds. It tastes sort of like a bland watermelon. The looks are definitely more exciting than the flavor.

I used a dragonfruit segment to develop a logo this year for a fruit shop. It certainly is a whole lot more striking in person than it is in the eating. Not something I would go out of my way to buy (again). Lovely autumnal shots and love the pumpkin headed family. A whole lot less makeup needed when you don’t have a face eh? ;)

Yeah I still have half in my fridge and I’m thinking of doing some stamping with the juice (like a potato stamp; no ink needed!) Yeah, wouldn’t buy it again but fun to try something new! Yeah produce-head shots are the best for maintaining our secret identity haha

Yeah, the witness protection get a bit funny if you reveal your persona intentionally…produce head shots would maintain that anonymity methinks…might be time to grow HUGE flowers as well so that you get a bit of variety? ;)

I hope you post pics of your Halloween decorations and carved pumkins. I assume that a mother with young children like yourself, that Halloween begins with decorating early in October and ends with trick or treating. Have a Happy Halloween!!

Got a good laugh with the ‘pumpkin-heads’ – Baby’s right, her “face is too cute to hide!” Nice shot of the Tithonia seed head. Do you save seed or does it self-sow? I saw on the WC that you guys are in for some chilly weather this week -brrr, winter letting us know it’s own its way. :-(

This is the first year I’ve grown Tithonia so will probably save some seeds. Winter is definitely on the way. The kids have already been saying they can’t wait for snow, so we are excited for winter; but I know you have a few extra months of winter than we do so may not be as cheerful about it’s coming; understandable!
