Friday evening we visited Howell Island Wildlife area. We visited back in November, so here it is in summer!
Walking up towards the levy, Fick Supply Service Inc. is on the left. Fick’s has compost, mulch, sand, rock and many other things garden dreams are made of…
I am not sure if this is a native or invasive thistle. I think it is a “Tall Thistle”.
We were just “fishing” for some cool pieces of wood. Our friend met us there and she wore her…
The Spy is pointing with an awesome walking stick he found.
Hope you all are having a nice weekend!
I love cloud photos, and that one (4th from the bottom) is the best I’ve seen this year. Beautiful!
Thanks!!
Lovely post and photos, really captures what looks like a lovely family outing. Those days are the best…I particularly loved the ‘river shoes’ – makes me feel better about the fact I live in my scruffy wellies / trainers – NOT glamorous, but I’m always ready for a wade! :)
;) Thanks for commenting!
I love to see you and your family getting out and making the most of summer. Love The Spy’s gnarly walking stick and expert sky pointing ability. You just never know when you are going to need to point to the sky, best to develop those triceps now prior to having to use them in an emergency sky pointing and be let down by flabby tri’s ;) Baby is doing that pear justice and your friend? What can we say…er…kudos to her chutzpah (at least it wasn’t salt water ;) ) Love sharing your gorgeous summer. Just started raining then and I am UBER happy about it. Installed a 10 000 litre rainwater tank on Saturday and need it to fill up. “I LOVE you rain!” Nothing like harvesting your own rainwater to make you fully appreciate a sky full of rain :)
Rain is the best. Water tank sounds awesome. Happy winter to you!
Happy rest of your summer to you now that the solstice has gone :)
Wonderful photography! Love the river shoes.
Thanks! :)
Wow, this place sure is beautiful in all seasons. I’m loving your landscape and sky shots – really outstanding. If Spy wasn’t in the cloud pic, I would have thought it a painting most definitely. Super post, thanks!
I LOVE the cloud shots too, especially the ones with the Spy! It is a nice place to meet friends for a walk, very central location and low-key. I still want to explore the island! In the winter it was hunting season so not the best idea (lots of hunters were on it) and now it’s too flooded to (safely) get to. So we’ll still have to explore the island…maybe before deer season starts this fall (when the water is down)!
Excellent photos!
Thanks so much!
