Historic "Bascom" House

Historic “Bascom” House

Inside the house they had tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Plus lots of photographs, displays of historical artifacts (the Spy loved the arrow heads) and we got a bunch of nice pamphlets (on butterflies, hummingbirds, native Missouri landscaping and a tree ID guide) perfect for reading indoors on a much colder winter day (it was 55 today!)

Gingerbread Church

Gingerbread Church

I love building with gingerbread and royal icing!

I tried to make stained glass for the windows with sugar but it was a little thick so I just piled it next to the house instead

The “stained glass” is very yummy (hard candy caramel) and the gingerbread is tasty too (yes we will definitely be eating this delicious church!)

Another view. The bell in the steeple is made from the hard candy caramel.
