I am writing 100 essays (300-1000 words each) in 100 days. 100 essays is a lot of words, many of them will probably seem quite off topic from the usual plants and garden frolicking of Spy Garden. But I will also try and keep up with the garden eye candy! Here are some shots from today:
We love how the Tigger melons change color:

How do the Tigger Melons taste?
They are not amazingly delicious or different in taste. Kind of like a cantaloupe but they have white flesh. I would still grow them again though since they are so pretty! And produced a lot of melons for not very big plants.
What oh so pretty garden eye candy you have! Love it! What inspired you to do the 100 / 100?
Thanks! When I first started this blog I had intended to write more. I love the writing styles of PJ O’Rourke, Dave Barry, Carl Hiassen and Larry McMurtry and I envisioned myself writing about kids/gardening in that style. However, it seemed all I ever did was post pictures! So I thought doing the 100/100 would be a good challenge and “force” myself to actually write things and change it up on Spy Garden. Plus one of my favorite blogs, 23thorns, did a 100/100 and I really enjoyed it and once it ended, I thought, “I can do that too!”
Fabulous! Good for you. (and you have me thinking…)
love those photos! How do those melons taste?
Thanks! They are pretty mild and taste like a cantaloupe. The flesh is white. They are not extraordinary when it comes to flavor but I would definitely grow them again as they produced a lot of melons and of course, are VERY photogenic!
Excellent to know! Man, they really ARE stunning!
