Good Morning Sunshine!

If I had to pick a favorite plant in our garden it would probably be the Hartman’s Giant Amaranth. This tall one (about five feet so far) is starting to set a seed head:

We’ve had amaranth grow upwards of twelve feet tall and the seed heads several feet in diameter. I find that the later they set the seed head the taller they grow. I originally bought the seeds from Baker Creek three years ago. I haven’t seen this variety in the catalogue since. Even though I save the seeds to plant I find that the ones that self sow grow stronger and better than the ones I plant.

LOTS of things growing in this row, it is quite a crowded hodgepodge

Supposed to be all melons, but I mixed up the seedlings so it is a mix of cucumbers and melons!
