The Spy: (hands me the flower-pot)

Me: What kind of flower is it?

The Spy: You should know that.

Me: Well I guess that’s sort of true.

hahaha

For the ‘guess the flower’, I’m going with Sweet Williams (Dianthus barbatus). Flower identification is not something I’m any good at but I grew these last year and they are coming back through for a second year and look a lot like the plant in your little pot. There is also a colour variant with the pink inner/white edging petals.

The helmet picture looks brilliant. We cleared out the shed the other week and came across an old Blackbirds nest in the folds of my old fold-up baby buggy :)

Yes, the flower is dianthus, thanks. I couldn’t think of the name at the time. I’m not very good with flower identification either (much better with garden veggies)! The helmet was hanging in this shed area we have. I actually got to see the baby birds peeking their heads out of the helmet and have also seen them flying around since they left the nest!
